Education

An approach in which we cut educational spending is not going to move Michigan forward. We knew Prop A would fail our children in a bad economy, and yet, here we are and we have done nothing to fix it. We must find alternative ways to fund education. Cutting student programming and the wages and benefits of our teachers will not produce a better result in student achievement.

Jobs

Michigan’s strong workforce is one of our most valuable resources. Focusing on the development of our people and marketing this to businesses out of state is the key to bringing jobs to Michigan. It is not too late to be a leader in creating and producing green energy. We must act now and offer the appropriate incentives to bring businesses here. We must also see what we can do to keep our struggling small businesses competitive and stop the loss of jobs.

The Green Economy

Michigan must be a destination for the jobs of the future. With the rise of demand for alternative energy options and the will to use products that are better for the environment, there is tremendous opportunity to attract new companies and jobs to Michigan. We must focus our efforts and incentives not only on bringing large corporations from overseas to Michigan, but also in supporting and the smaller companies who are already here.

Stop Politics as Usual

I am tired of watching the mess in Lansing. Our elected leaders think it is more important to fight each other rather than get things done for working people. When I am your state representative, you can trust that I will start each day with one goal in mind; making sure that our government is helping the people who work hard every day. We need trusted leadership in Lansing that will look out for us not look out for themselves.
